The Good Shepherd Bible Study Fellowship is a ministry of First Baptist Church.
It was founded in October of 1975. It’s purpose is to meet the spiritual needs of the developmentally disabled in the Tuscarawas County Area. This ministry meets each Sunday morning at 10:45am & is under the direction of Dave & Pattie Millard.
We begin at 10:45am with ” Miss Kaylyn & Her Circle of Friends “ who teaches us a Memory Verse using puppets & a flannel board. We work on a verse for 4 weeks, then begin another one. Squeeks McCheeser & his cousin Riley the Rat are class favorites.
At 10:58am its our Devotional Time to begin the morning ” Lesson for Life “ . This is a time of thought provoking challenge as we look at everyday situations & how God would want us to handle them.
At 11:03am its time for the opening song called Warm Up To Worship followed by:
- announcements
- birthdays
- the offering.
Learning Together. Is the next segment of the morning, where the Bible lesson for the morning is taught.
Exploring Together. Moves us into 7 different table groups to explore what was taught.
Sharing Together. Ties it all together as we share together as a group what we have learned.
Celebrating Together. Where everyone participates in singing together.
Several class members help lead us in worship. Interaction is the key & there is plenty of it. Class ends at 12:05pm. First Baptist Church offers bus service in the Tuscarawas County area & it is staffed by some great volunteers.
Good Shepherd’s also actively supports a Missionary Team from our church in the Czech Republic both financially & through prayer. We also participate yearly in the local ” Share a Christmas: The Giving Tree “ to give gifts to needy boys & girls in our community.
Joybells for Jesus Bell Choir is officially underway. We are looking at a nursing home ministry for January or February 2012. The Bell Choir is under the direction of Steve & Kathy Hinkley. Watch our website for future playing opportunities.
All in all Good Shepherd’s is the Sunday morning place to be.
