It is very  important that we as children of God understand what it is to walk in this world & live the life God has called us to live.  We live in a very complex, difficult time. We have things happening very rapidly all around us, yet God the author of life never leaves us & never forsakes us.  Another dear member of Good Shepherds went home to be with the Lord is recent days.  She is already so missed by all of us, she lived her life & I believe was happy with it, yet it was just so brief & suddenly it is over here…………..and just beginning there!  LIFE………..it is precious………enjoy it…..& live it for Him!  Until next time……………..God Bless………….Brother Dave

My family & I recently took a much needed vacation.  We took off for Washington D.C. to tour our nations capitol.  It was a truly an amazing experience for all of us.  Once we learned the subway system we were off for a real tour.  We visited all of the memorials in our nation’s capitol.  We also toured the Smithsonians & even saw the White House & the Capital building.  It was so wonderful to see these great landmarks of our nation.  I have gained a new respect for our country & the values that it was founded on.  God truly was at the forefront in the thoughts & minds of our forefathers.  As always it was wonderful to get back home where we truly belong & where God has called us to serve Him.   More soon………God Bless……….Brother Dave

I had the occassion to attend two very different funeral services this week, one was for a lady who I have known all of my life.  She spent the biggest part of her life as a missionary to Puerto Rico.  The 2nd one was for a co-workers brother who was diagnosed back in November with Stage 4 cancer.  Two very different lives & stories yet both headed I believe in the same direction.  As I attended both memorial services, I was convinced that both of these dear people were children of God.  While living very different lives, the end result of life was still the same……..being ready to meet the Saviour, who loved them & gave His life for them.  I am so grateful to have had these folks in my life.  They both touched my life in different ways, but ultimately the joy was in knowing that tonight they are with there Saviour, WHOLE, HAPPY & FREE.  It was AN INTERESTING WEEK…….Until next time……..Brother Dave.

This past week, a good friend of mine at work told me that her brother was in the end stages of his life. He was diagnosed back in November 2009 with terminal cancer & at this point Hospice has been called in.  I spoke with her brother a while back & at that time he expressed to me that he was ready to go……….now the fear & apprehension has set in.  That is a perfectly normal reaction as a human being.  There will always be something else we want to do, or accomplish in this life…….its important that we BE READY!   None of us know when God will call us home, but its important that we are READY whenever He calls.  I have been asked to do the funeral of this gentleman when the time comes.  Please pray that I have one last opportunity to speak to him about eternity & in that process that God would be able to use me in his life.   Until next time……….God Bless……..Take Care……….Brother Dave.
